Recently, the hot rolling group of Baosteel received good news, after the world premiere product of new wear-resistant steel BW300TP for hot rolling has been developed sucessfully, the production and sales amount has doubled for consecutive years, the annual output has incrreased from 300 tons in 2013 to 600 tons, the accumulative production and sales amount has exceeded 10000 tons. Domestic leading enterprises have continuously expanded the order quantity, the products are exported to southeast Asia and other international markets, Baosteel has formed the BW300TP mass production of supply capacity.
BW300TP is successfully developed by hot rolling of Baosteel Academia Sinica, it is the world premiere products of Baosteel hot rolling, it is mainly used for upgrading and updating of mixing drum body material for concrete mixer, the product has a strength of 1100 MPa and a lightweight design of steel plate with a thickness of 3.5 to 4.5 mm, it is one third thinner compared with traditional mixer drum body material. Relying on the advanced research and development strength and equipment level, Baosteel innovative use of special production technology during the production, it successfully solved the contradiction between "high hardness" and "low yield ratio", the special requirements of high wear-resisting and easy to process both required by the user is satisfied.
The product has the characteristics of green environmental protection, energy saving and emission reduction, long life and durable, used to make mixing drum body of concrete mixer, it can reduce weight by about 30%, and can save about 1400 litres of fuel per year by running 60000km per year..
After the successfully development of BW300TP, the production and marketing team of Baosteel has continuously improved the product quality level and performance stability, the pass rate of product strip plate shape has increased from less than 80% in the past to over 95%.
Relying on the strong technical strength of Baosteel, the project team provided package of technical services for the user, such as from material selection to production, from CAE design optimization to stamping die development, from welding shaping to service evaluation, to create the conditions for the smooth application of the special vehicle manufacturers, and then quickly open the market.
The hot rolling production and marketing research team and the user together carried out the application tracking for the first batch of sample car put into market in 2013, the measurement result shows that after using BW300TP, the thickness reduction of drum body plate is only 0.2mm in four years, it is equivalent to one year's wear reduction of ordinary steel plate.
